Mix up some thinset using the instructions on the bag, then, using a 1/2in notched trowel, spread thinset over the area with the flat side, then use the notched side to make ridges.

Here in FL, the homes with a dog are less likely to be broken into.Regarding the shed, figure self storage will cost 80 bucks, here in FL at least, per month.
