Welcome to BP.I know this doesn't answer your question, but for anyone reading along this is one of the hidden costs you need to figure into total acquisition price of the property- before you buy.

Robert, As a fellow transplant, I totally get it.

Total annual mortgage cost would be $2100, but savings should be significantly more than that, even more when you factor in mortgage tax credits.I'm sure you're saying, "well you just replaced your oil/gas bill with an electricity bill"... 

Your best bet is anything that lets you get back to real-estate ASAP.

I would be willing to bet they'd have dabbled in investing at some point as well. :) good luck you'll do great!!

I bet you anything you scare off 50% of renters who would otherwise consider the place, and you're wasting a lot of time entertaining those who think they can get a deal.
