Depending on the age of the home they might not even insure it or you jump straight to government-funded or backed insurance.That alone can equal up to the cost of an average HOA down here and sometimes surpass the monthly cost of an HOA.I have one property (single family home) that I pay more monthly on home insurance than I pay on HOA in 2 office condos I own.I dont know much about Multifamily since I dont own any but I can only assume the rates would be even higher.Im only speaking of home coverage not liability ...

If it's a Bexar County case you can search on the county clerk's website for the case number and then go in person to the clerk's office to get a copy of the petition, the order appointing the ad litem and the order appointing the administrator. 

I tell agents to meet the client in the office and have the secretary make a copy of their ID and write the schedule in a log (it's fake).

My easy to explain take on the whole thing, on a very small scale this "should" not matter too much, but if Im looking at VERY large residential, commercial, office, retail then I would be worried.
