I think inflation is inevitable with the current US fiscal policy, but that's a whole 'nother topic…Obviously, there will be a learning curve, but if you've got good cash reserves and steady income from DOD, working through unexpected issues shouldn't be to difficult if you've got a good team in place and play the numbers a little conservative on your first deal or two.I can't offer any advice as to FHA vs VA, just crunch all the numbers for the different financing options against your desired ROI and funds available and it should be pretty obvious which way to go.

Throwing in one more Abe Lincoln coin here...if you're an investor, visit the market you're investing in, create one on one relationships with your service partners on the ground, start you're own RSS feed on all things on the city from jobs, crime and fiscal health of the city and state (reason I stay faaaaaar away from Chicago and Illinois).

In the old days they would try to influence the BPO agent to come in at a lower value.Those days have pretty much been gone for years now.If the bank is ordering the BPO they have mills they go through and the mill puts out the order to a few agents showing in the immediate area that are in their system.
