And the accounting heavy aspects of REI is a very different skill set than project specific project analysis which is another animal entirely than a strategic investment advisor concerned more with your portfolio and holdings as a whole as compared to each individual piece.  

You couldn't afford to have a new home built like they were in the early 1900's It would cost way to much because of the superior quality and skill necessary to build that way. 

On the flip side, I could see some people who would be OK with 5 years and this would just force some people to sit on their homes for longer periods of time, which would continue to contribute to the housing shortages we see today. 

That'd be a big deal in terms of ability to manage the work..I'd reiterate that if you want to move forward on a project as you're describing you'll need a good set of A/E plans and some really solid negotiating skills to actively manage the project.

I actually developed some really useful skills in those jobs.

Changes can be made in many areas to help improve your health, your knowledge or your skills.

In addition, your skills as a plumber can save some money on a flip project for instance. 

As so many of the homes in the area are STR we have a shortage of housing for workers, demand is high and little apartments and homes are getting top dollar.

We have a housing shortage, wages are up and there will continue to be appreciation unless something stalls the economy.

One would want to define a market then look for TK in that market..although being competitive as it is turnkey is generally all priced the same in each market.IE 6 to 10% COC these days.. for safe secure investment.. you go higher and you tend to go into a little rougher areas.so just depends on your skill set and level of risk.
