Hook up with other people doing big deals and learn from them......Jake and Gino have a great group to hook up with for bigger players. or start small and learn a few times before you go buy a larger complex that has a full staff to manage it.

With syndications you guys get to be a part of a bigger party and while it takes away a bit of the drive your own ship independence, it also puts you in partnership with some experienced market players. 

The big players quickly work themselves into alternative investments that are still RE but not the same things that everyone gets gooey eyed over.
