We're really interested in creating financial freedom for our family (we have a son) and we feel like real estate is a perfect fit.

So, I will typically only buy a rental if it will hit the 2% Rule.If others can achieve their desired returns with different ratios, more power to them. 

I may never retire, but i want the freedom to say that i can. 

I want freedom, I want to work "for myself", I want to be successful for myself and future generations. 

I'm not responsible for my tenants other bills, not sure why I would pay for his/her utility consumption.Can you direct Ontario Hydro (Power-one or whatever their name is now) that you will not longer be accepting such redirected billing and, in the future, they should suspend service and notify you if a tenant falls into arrears.... or, you could always send them a bill the next time a tenant falls into arrears with rent. ;-)
