If I were starting out as a handyman I would focus on word of mouth referral, setting up my own google business listing for clients and previous clients to leave positive reviews and maybe getting in on one of the gig apps such as thumbtack, etc.

We have worked with one in my area that we found by calling around and word of mouth from our real estate agent, but we'd like to find some others so we have some options. 

Word of mouth is still a strong way to network.Where are you looking to purchase?

If the cops are not going to enforce warrants they should  keep their mouths shut about them.

Wow that was a mouthful.

If $500k were to build two duplexes on one lot worth $550k that grossed $6800 in monthly rent, I'd be much happier with having the resulting cash flow after expenses and assets being paid down than trying to pull off a $500k worth of single family flips or having 2-3 separate rental houses worth a bit more, but also harder to manage and with less cash-flow. 

People will judge you harshly (whether deserving or not) for having pets while you have human mouths to feed. 

You'll both be happier for it.

It’s amazing that something so simple would have such an impact but it makes sense when you think about it as (sadly) many folks are living hand to mouth, paycheck to paycheck.
