Hello,How can I tell whether or not the property that I'm renting have a tenant occupancy certificate, the reason being it's a lot of work that has not been completed, I have questions and sent pictures to the landlord  the address in 413 Charter Oak Ave Baltimore Md. 21212 your help would greatly appreciated also the heat does not work and there's no running water in the basement literally the house need major repairs did not notice a lot of the issued until I moved in. 

Emily,From an insurance standpoint  i would add:1. get copies of proof of Insurance for all subcontractors (Certificate of Insurance) prior to them doing work.

In many states there is a certification or license for asbestos consulting.

It is still important to get rental certificates and keep the property up to code.

They also require the landlord to take a certificate course every three years.

Then obtain a new Certificate of Occupancy as formal evidence of the unit count for your lending purpose.
