Sounds like an old wives tale (like real old).And those who say/believe it today, is because they were raised to fear God from an early age every time they didn’t shut the lights off in the house - as if it’s a cardinal sin or something.Change them to LEDs if you want to save the Earth and/or stop wasting your time being butthurt about it.

Glad to hear construction is deemed essential - here construction AND real estate was shut down for a couple months which hurt.

For example, before COVID hit, I won a courthouse foreclosure auction and wired my 5k, right before the courts shut down and froze the process from moving forward.I was going to fund it with a cash-out refi non-QM loan from another property.. but with COVID that loan disappeared. 

We were moving towards the closing of the loan, but the government got shut down...

Negatives: Previous owner cemented all the windows shut to conserve energy.

Otherwise, disconnecting the gas usually involves shutting the valve off behind the stove (there should be one) and removing the line with a wrench.
