Hello everyone, I am doing some tenant turn over remodeling on a rental property.

The property has been in the same family for 30+ years and has been well maintained. 

Curious and excited to learn some things about multifamily properties (duplexes currently).

The 1245 property (think personal property and bonus depreciation) is recaptured at ordinary tax rates though… so the new property must have an equal amount or more 1245 property. 

I am trying to buy first property to house hack, live in for 1 year, and buy another.
