We DO plan to offer these marketplaces in future years, and hope to meaningfully cut down on situations like this (although you can never fully avoid them). 

The space will not have head clearance to meet code (only 6' 4" like the bedroom) so my options are to cancel the project or proceed unpermitted.

Last I checked, google/nest also limits you to 5 property drop downs per login, so once you grow to more than 5 properties you have to start sharing thermostats on the same property dropdown for multiple properties or create a 2nd login account.

People down here operate at a different speed, and everyone who comes from out of the area is aghast at how poor the customer service is.
