To what extent can the provide value to one's real estate business?

If the payment is considered a business expense, then obviously it doesn't make sense, but I'm not sure if the payment is a tax write off since 1, I don't have an LLC, and 2 bc I don't even know if an insurance payout qualifies as a write off expense.

Done a couple of flips, currently working on one that I’m considering to brrr it’s a single family 3bdrm 2 bath.and hoping to get a multi unit next. we are very skilled in the construction end (have a hardwood floor business) new to the nuances of rentals especially in New York State .

I only will recommend folks I have done business with.

But, the brokerages and most people who contact you from them are just trying to get you in their downline.

This will help you meet lots of different people in the industry who might help you along your journey or at least share their own experiences that you can also learn from. 

Get it advertized and if people want to see the place, give the tenants 24 hours notice and you accompany perspective tenants.

I am trying to be more active and meet like kind real estate minded people.

I know it is much harder to find deals in Fort Collins, but I know people are still investing here and having success.
