Page 9 of Publication 527 specifically includes mobile homes in "any real property that is a rental building or structure (including mobile homes)" So your colleague is incorrect; the manufactured home is residential real property, not tangible personal property (chattel).

I honestly can't imagine one agent hijaking another agent's listing, but I can imagine an address being incorrectly passed along and someone putting up the sign and making the recording for the wrong house.

Some cities will state (incorrectly) that is not the law.

I also believe that there is one at The Green Turtle in Newark, DE by Border Cafe on the last Tuesday of the month ... if I am incorrect, someone please let me know.
