I love Airbnb and think it is a great service for both guests and hosts, but I really don't think it works for those people just wanting to rent their personal residence when they are out of town or for special events. 

any rentals 30 days or shorter can take place only if the owner or permanent tenant stays in the house with the guest during the whole rental.

Same goes for pets, guests, outdoor equipment, etc.

Those who liked RDPD will probably also like 'three feet from Gold' , by Sharon Lechter, who also co-wrote some of the RDPD books

I'm fine with investing in single family homes but so many of the successful guests on the podcast preach that it's a must to get your property for below market value to cover for unforeseen circumstances.  

She was also a guest on the BP podcast (show 103) that had some good info.

If she is technically the owner of the home and you sell the house outside the broker, it is my understanding that as long as she discloses her status you are fine.

I'll tell you right now that some managers charge fees without producing results and others are worth their weight in gold.

Gold and oil are going to make a lot of people rich in 2-3 years.

Just a thought of a new question to ask guests is to ask what their opinion of the economy and RE market.
