Should I take the money and just put it in a CD with that guaranteed income or take the plunge and risk it by renovating the house, renting, and then rolling it over into my new retirement home in a few years with a 1031?

There are some deals to be had but it’s all about your network because there are a couple large players in the area that like to gobble it all up.Most of the rentals we manage are folks who are renting out the house they’ve been living in for years or maybe their parents have.

There are some, but they get snatched quickly by the bigger players who wholesale them.

Either way, different strategies for different levels of player.
