The tour guide has never made an honest dollar running elderly rentals, so these are not the things she thinks about every day working at a place like that.The last think I would urge you to do is to doubt...everything.

I doubt he’llbe open to showings..he may treat the place worse knowing he can’t stay...or he could want to buy it, but I doubt it...I don’t think an investor willl want it since the #s may not work..Any advise from anyone who has gone through this ?

Landlords may screw you, but you can operate differently and better.As to your actual case, I would not pay the 200 dollars and maybe see if you can get your own attorney to sue them, as I am sure this is a violation of some law, especially in CA.Finally, I doubt the guy who owns the building (if he owns 2000 units) is involved in this sort of thing

Personally I doubt that 10 years down the road much of what they will have told you will make any difference in your net worth.To me it seems more like something someone who wants to work for a REIT might be interested in (yet still even then it seems like mostly useless on the job knowledge, just like most colleges >Sell<).
