When looking for bookkeepers I encourage my potential clients to look for someone that you will feel comfortable asking questions to,  who enjoys teaching along with doing the work. 

It's about finding the right fit for your level of involvement, management style, and asset class.

However, I don't think there's a to of value at $8500 to a person who's just starting out and needs that capital to actually go out and buy the thing they are trying to teach you to buy.
