Hello Paul,First of all I think the Colorado Springs market is an excellent place to invest, but there is also a lot competition that comes with the territory as an agent.

Agreed.The 401k, and it's nonprofit counterpart 403b and their non-employer based friend IRA, are excellent tools for a host of reasons.

@Bill Plymouth hey bill, don’t charge more. focus first on providing excellent service and meeting all the needs of your client. the money should be secondary. if you go above and beyond for him at the normal rate, he will tell all his friends. if you go above and beyond but only did so because you’re getting paid more, that’s not probably going to bring referrals. i think focusing on your clients needs first will yield far greater return for you down the road.
