There aren't any large manufacturing facilities or job magnets moving there, their local city council leaves a lot to be desired, and the state-wide minimum wage is also going to put people out of work, so I fail to see the desire just because properties are cheap. 

@Devin Cook - Location is the most imporant factor when it comes to real estate.

Maybe not anything huge (besides the facility in NKY for amazon that will make thousands of jobs), but jobs are here! 

This is my first post for some insight on this great forum...and it's got a ton of moving pieces.My husband's parents own commercial property (free & clear/no mortgage) on a large lot that has a board and care (assisted living) facility. 

I was listening to the podcast  on mobile home parks and that led to assisted living facilities.

Just make sure your cleaners have access to laundry facilities, preferably on-site but if you have enough spare sheets, towels, etc it is a non-issue.

what is a recommended online site or facility to acquire a mo licence?

The house may end up encumbered if she goes into a care facility, etc.To reiterate - ask her how you can help.

Rehab, I googled costs based from photos and from my experience in facilities management.
