I'd recommend getting in contact with someone who has significant experience in REI and who has already accomplished their goals.

However, it only protects you from one type of liability: accidents.After that you want to compartmentalize your assets, which is often accomplished through the use of LLCs or corporations.

@Cesar Castro could you explain what a VA IRRRL would accomplish/ what it is? 

When it does not accomplish their goals, which it won't, and landlords are forced to modify how they do business tenants will be negatively impacted.

That would be accomplished best with a great property manager.

I think you would need to asses the cost of the business funding vs what you are trying to accomplish.

I can’t accept the congratulations yet because all I have accomplished so far is leaving a lucrative job 😂After much research, I think I have identified a job that would be the ideal transition using my skills.

Now if investing is not your intention, and your plan is simply have a low cost of living, paying off your home is a good way to accomplish that.
