As a side note, the company was paying my living expense abroad, so really I was tripling my savings rate.I am not sure if the company you are speaking about is trying to get you to move for a new job or if it is your current employer needing your skills in a different location, but leveraging them to protect your position might be a better strategy. 

I have a business degree (supply chain management and marketing) and have been self-educating on real estate topics, but I'm about ready to get my hands dirty. 

I guess my question is, isn't it better to leverage what you have (to obtain more properties), instead of having all the cash tied up in just one property, even though you own it free and clear?

This gives you leverage to either sell for profit, or refinance for cash out to do another deal.

Be educated for the rest of your life. 

Also be sure to inspect prior to lease renewal in case you need to use it as leverage for correcting any issues before agreeing to renew or find something that merits non-renewal.sample letter:Tenant, Thanks for being a valued resident over the past XXXX!

Hello,I am brand new to this website and have started reading some of the bigger pockets books to educate myself.

I'm in the process of educating myself and want to know if there is a good way to practice running the numbers and evaluating properties.

I want this thread to educate me, but also educate the others in the forum when they need to find a good attorney.
