OK, this is one thing we do in our target area, just outside the 'Burgh.A number of properties in our target area have old tiled tub/showers and the same three-handle water supply control systems with behind-the-wall valves they had when they were first built in the late 1940s, during the second major housing boom of the city's history.

.- In no way am I calling into question the business model of TK companies, but have all of the major systems been upgraded?

Previous owner was using the “buddy” system for moving in and out.  

This is just a heads up learned from experience and observation.Find a system you really believe in (in REI), and go for it. 

It has been tough to compete with all the 1031 money in the system the last few years. 

@Shahdan Calcuttawalla The hvac guy I use has installed 2 used outdoor units and one used system for me.

I use a follow up system to make sure I always touch them on a regular basis.

I also don't have a property manager or systems in place for it to run on its own.

@Logan Caudill If it's been abandoned for a few years, I'd check to see if you can test out the systems in the home (i.e. electrical, plumbing, etc).

. - If you are getting financing, know that the banking system over here works a little different than in Australia.
