You will need to build a team for out of state and the closer to CA the better because of the travel time and as a college student you might not get 3 days to meet a contractor in the Midwest.

I know it's also a niche to invest to those who travel for work.I wanted to get your thoughts and learn from those who went through this route.

@David LutzLets look at your major cost vs what I would expect here in TEXASMajor costs over last 3 years on 5 homes:$10K in missed rent leading to and waiting for eviction$3K Eviction costs (lawyers, travel, writ, etc.)Evictions outside the Pandemic takes 4 weeks in Texas.  

I think STR is an experience based travel and with the right marketing /design, it can 100% be a viable investment.

Upstate New York will generally qualify with standard markets such as Travelers, Nationwide etc... there are a few other property programs that do very well depending on the size.
