Sadly, I don't know what the solution is, but I can guarantee that if more STRs get shut down there will need to be an increase in taxes coming from somewhere. 

Now, there will be those deviations given specific unique factors, say a steel town somewhere that 40% work at the plant and plant shut's down, oh-yeah, big time decline.

I would give similar advice to someone that wanted to open a restaurant, landscaping company, hair saloon, etc.  

If you are a millionaire and have 10 mortgages for $10,000 each, you owe $100,000 and are shut out by Fannie.

Before you shut her down, find out where she is advertising/listing your place and copy her in the future.

I've seen a couple of communities like Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach where you can buy a SFH in the community, there's a pool, lazy river, bar and restaurant, etc., and you drive your golf cart around to each place.
