You could easily grade the area, add steel edging and install decomposed granite with a hardener or stabilizer to create a low cost patio. 

A little outdoor space goes a long way so if you wanted a common grilling space you could install a small patio for that.

Also I think it depends if you have a patio or not.

The plastic barbed ell that screws into the pitless adaptor has cracked at the threads .
