I would suggest you get over to some investing meet ups in the area.

It's all about making sure the properties meet the requirements of section 8 and getting solid deals for 3+ bedrooms.

Is this a forum to meet outside investors that would be interested in doing something above? 

I called the zoning department and they are telling me this is a Mixed use building (N zone).

I will be away for about 2 months but will definitely go to the Albany meeting when I get back. 

Go to some meetings ahead of applying, talk to the members of the board and ask questions if you have any.

I know this is an old thread.I'd like to get a more recent opinion of these apps.I think the DFD options is very interesting.What we want to do is endorse one of these for our Real Estate Club in Greenville, SC and have a contest for our members to see who can find the most deals with the software.Maybe try and get a rep from the company we choose to come and speak at one of our in person meeting and also negotiate a longer trial window if possible for our members.

So any contacts, known meet ups, or especially advice for an initial purchase is greatly appreciated!

Unless the medical condition meets the state criteria for early termination and that the medical notice does not appear to suggest that, you cannot terminate the lease outright/immediately but that you will begin to market the property for rental and upon securing an acceptable tenant, the lease can be terminated pending a satisfactory property walkthrough indicating no damages.
