I remove the top plywood, which the linoleum or other glue down item is attached and then can go back with cement board and tile, carpet, or hardwood and be close to flush with my other flooring.

I've been thinking of maybe improving the grading on the exterior of the house (which is currently flat and flush with the rest of the yard) and laying down an inorganic subfloor and tiling and/or carpeting over it.

After sitting in bed last night browsing the local Craigslist ads I found some locals that were upgrading the standard builder grade toilets with nicer pieces.I picked up an American Standard toilet for example @ $20 and even if it needs a flush kit it will still be less than the lowest grade they sell at my local Lowes.
