I am not a big fan of high cost software that runs on a desktop, I much prefer cloud apps, especially ones that sync and work seamlessly over multiple devices.

Isn't this similar to a "desktop appraisal?" 

Try viewing it from a desktop or laptop. 

I prefer it over the desktop version.

Jorge is right, most banks will determine how good an offer is based on their value (Some banks do desktop appraisals and some do BPO/appraisals depending on the investor).

Logging in and checking messages or making a call from the desktop or their app allows you to keep the number.

It's really important that you get a Pre Qual that has DU ( desktop Underwriter )or LP ( Loan Prospector )  attached to it so that you know your solid qualifying for your purchase.
