@Tanya Robson, once the agreement is signed - legally he can't go back into the agreement and manually change any terms without consent from the buyer/borrower.

The thermostat is smart, and will learn people's preference and they are saying the thermostat goes from 71 to 76 degrees without their consent (i'm assuming from their previous setting adjustments and the thermostat adjusted accordingly).
