Hi Ryan, like @Nathan Gesner mentioned, it's important to be selective when choosing people to partner with. 

Also, if you're working with a local bank, theyre likely choosing not to originate  Conventional loans for investment properties and to only offer commercial loans that they hold on their balance sheet, which are subject to their own internal credit policies.

@Dave Harlan They have an amazing product but your better off using a mortgage broker with a great reputation for customer service because they offer wholesale pricing advantages to their brokers and the only complaints I've ever heard about them have come from service issues on the retail side.

Marcos reputation has been solid up to now so many note holders believe that he intends to make good on this turn of bad fortune.

There's no right or wrong way to do this, just varying levels of risk and reward and YOU need to understand what they are for whatever strategy you choose. 

If you choose to work with them however, I recommend flying out, or call a Real Estate Agent/Contractor/friendto video call you, and see the property before you sign the dotted line.

With a thriving tourism scene and steady year-round visitors, it’s perfect for short-term and long-term rentals as long as you are choosing an unsaturated asset class.

Either they choose to move out or you get paid for the “hassle factor”.

However, it's essential to determine whether they are reputable brokers.
