Since your parents seem open to your involvement, I would start start small. 

That means there are sometimes you have to get people off the list who are not opening your emails, or buying anymore, and add people who were buying years ago stopped, and now are back in.

Laundromats are open to the public, and if the local neighborhood has a high crime rate and transient population, those can be potentially expensive problems that can affect your business.
