Basic Numbers were: Purchased for $240K with 5% down; rents at $700/unit originally plus garage rent; 2 beds, 1.5 baths each; townhome style.

Some of the good ones can give you more suburban-style SFRs for $100k or just over $100k can also get you more urban-style MFRs. 

Its a family oriented community and is near 7 higher education schools.

A lot of the 3 bedroom houses in the city have been converted to a 2/1 and 1/1 style duplex.

I'd like to get a traditional mortgage or a home style renovation loan but this property will have to be an investment (not a primary or second home).Thank You

There are mentions of wanting to do it, but not any firm "This is how it works" style stuff.

As I gained entry 1 months after the purchase, I found that the plumbing was galvanized and the electrical service was still on the old style fuses.

A lot of the residents I've spoken with like the diversity and neighborhood feel as well as the building restrictions which provide a continuity in the style of housing.

That being said the features I really appreciate are more service oriented than technology oriented (and I have no problem paying for all of these services)...Have an experienced and reliable handyman/paint crew ON STAFF.
