I am investing in Texas, not in California at all.Really, for someone starting out, I will tell you what someone who has been investing for several years told me at one of the FIBI meetings I went to: For the next 4 to 6 months, attend as many FIBI meetings as possible (drive to any and all that are in the LA and Orange County area), do all the reading you can on BiggerPockets, read as many books as you can on investing.

Orange County reacted differently than the Inland Empire.

I would suggest that you start your investigation locally by attending some of the REI groups in Orange County that are on Meetup.

Have you considered other areas of southern California, such as Orange County in the coastal areas?
