It’s a 3-6 month program in which active duty members can intern for a company in the career field they are interested in before they get out.

I’m currently active duty and once I make rank , I’m getting kicked out of the barracks and into town.

I am NEW new here and while I look for a professional picture of myself for my profile, I wanted to explain my situation and maybe get in touch with some folks who've found ways to be successful in a similar situation.I'm 27, Active Duty in the Coast Guard with no plans to get out until I can retire with the 20 year benefits (15 to go!).

I don't know the school districts, whatever dividing lines exist (you want north vs south, or east vs west), what areas have bad reputations, where the new car plant is going in, or 100 or 1000 other small, but vital details about the area.
