Nothing is wrong with taking a job to learn an industry, process, procedures, make contacts, etc... and then (sometime later) applying what you've learned, and connections made into your own business.

Lessons learned?

I am looking to learn about note investing and also looking to buy 1st position performing notes. 

I spent time researching and learning about real estate investing.

I like to think that everything happens for a reason and that there is something to learn from every experience.
