If it's a 'clean split' meaning if that split goes to both units entirely - and that split is accessible that's a WAY easier deal than if you for instance have one trunk line that goes through the whole place and say, Ts off 7 times to get to all of your appliances - with alternate Unit 1, Unit 2 along the way.
