@Eric TomlinUnless you have other non-traditional investments in mind, the checkbook control provided by an IRA LLC would be more tool than you likely require.Check out Kingdom Trust Co or IRA Services Trust Co.  

Would the bank be able to forgive the rest of the loan on the property after the sizable payoff amount?

I am new to the world of Real Estate and plan on using this service and others to learn the ropes.

@Dan KrupaAlthough you would not be able to pledge your IRA as collateral for a personal loan, the rest of the options that others have mentioned can be great ways to use your retirement funds in real estate and other assets.
