While I'm not versed in AirBNB as much as long term rentals, I don't consider the AirBNB returns without knowing I have an exit strategy to rent it long term and the above numbers barely make sense at $900,000 depending on your strategy.Also, Raleigh has stricter AirBNB laws than its Durham counterpart (https://raleighnc.gov/services...).

By the time you factor in management and cleaning (40%), HOA 400 to 600 or more, seasonality, there was barely anything left for a mortgage payment, nevermind any repairs or potential special assessment.I came away thinking a couple of the condos can make sense as a second vacation home, with the rental part offsetting the expenses to make it more affordable to go to a place you enjoy being.

She said it was too expensive for her to fix, so they’re just gonna clean the bare minimum and it’s gonna keep coming backApparently the backstory is: a few years ago an upstairs neighbor (now long gone) had a fight with the HOA, so they turned on the taps and stuffed tshirts in the sinks to flood the apartment and caused water & mold damage in the downstairs apartments.What the actual FWe have a baby in here and we spent 90% of our savings to buy this condo, all cash.
