If I know I am moving is it best to wait until I have relocated and try to find a property in that new market or continue trying to find a deal where I currently live?

Then I took it to my attorney for review and tweaks (as I am not an attorney and am not qualified to practice law) before we put it into service. 

Welcome @Matthew Hagemann, I would say to definitely listen to the bigger pockets real estate podcast because it turns any information from books into practical wisdom.

Is this just part of the process for normal deals and this is common practice?

I've seen it both ways now and this company has really good reviews so maybe I'm just over thinking the details here but I want to get an idea of what is standard practice.
