I'm starting my career as a salesperson in New York City and currently in search for a great team to join. 

If you don't have an existing network that supplies you with new deals, you can go to any of the crowdfunding sites such as Crowd Street, Real Crowd etc. and/or you can join an investor club.If you're conservative, then it takes a lot more work to locate the few that you might find suitable.

Perhaps next time you folks meet up I'll join.

We also have a good R.E. networking group in Latham that you can join.

I joined the brokerage that was the #1 in my market (by far), then I joined the office location of that company that had the highest production per agent, then I copied everything the top agents in that office did.

I am also looking into joining some groups and will try to attend some meetups about REI in my area.

Recommend joining TRIG (Tidewater Real Estate Investing Group) and going to some meetings.

Join that group and do a key word search and you'll see some posts referencing dozens of options.
