Before you set it up I would advise assessing your own resources (time, capital, skills) that you can provide to the partnership and anticipate what you think an ideal partner would also bring.

I know I'm limited in my resources just starting out however, I don't want to let that stop me from pursuing every option I have.

So now 5 years from now, the amount I "paid" into the property may be less relevant.
