I am exploring renting my STR to MTR option when the summer travel season dwindles.

Hello all,I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Real Estate and have 17 years of experience in the construction industry in my home country.

I am open to take some heat so please give me honest and open feedback. 

I am in the very early stages of looking at a commercial property to invest in.

What I am reading is that the rent was due on the 1st and the tenant has 10 days to cure that obligation without a late fee.  

Purchase price: $1,100,000 7 unit single story apartment complex.This is a Syndicated deal that we are General Partners and Co-Sponsors in.The units are 1 bedroom 1bath.

I am focusing instead on how paying down more principal can increase my equity.What am I not considering or putting too little/too much weight on?

I am in University and have my Real Estate License and am planning to work part-time as an Agent once I pass my exam to make connections and to keep learning about my San Jose/Santa Clara Market (plus hopefully increase my income).I am saving all I make at my current job and am trying to understand at what point I can start looking to buy my first Property.
