Sounds to me like a money making scam.

This was basically a lease-option scam, and two years later our court date (jury) is the end of next month to (hopefully) get my money back out of this mess, haha.

Also there were a lot of scams presented that I saw prior to the 2008 bubble burst, and so I became a tad bit jaded, leery, and deterred to get started.

pretty much all turnkeys are scams to be blunt I am tired of listing the reasons why....it's a shame so many people are suckered into the illusion of making millions with turnkey... there is no profit potential.  

Are (some) Lenders that desperate to find Borrowers, that they lend purely against your promise to pay back, even though you have no provable assets or income, and they'd have no way of tracking you down if/when your scheme/scam comes undone?

At first, my husband thought that they were victims of some sort of rental scams. 

Scams are unfortunately relatively common in this type of transaction.Best of luck!

Dont get scammed and remember hard money comes at a high premium compared to a regular line of credit or a bank loan.
