@Ronny Lee When my wife and I moved here (Topeka) Fall of 2017 from Wichita to relocate for the purchase of our business we were forced to rent due to the move happening on short notice and also due to being newly self employed I could not get a loan to buy a house. 

I get a lot of people who are relocating... people who are waiting for their apartment, new build home, etc to be move-in ready or who are relocating and want to spend a few months getting to learn the area prior to buying or prior to renting for 1+ years in an area they are unfamiliar with.  

I'm new at REI and trying to get started within the next few months on obtaining my first property.I plan on relocating to a different state and have been doing my research there.

The story from the neighbors is either "I don't know" (while looking at the ground) or "I heard he shot himself" I will probably have to see an attorney now because I have a job where I could be relocated with no notice and may have to sell.

I'm relocating from Boston, MA, and have started the process of purchasing a small multi-family home.

But if and when you go to sell it and the buyer wants an FHA loan that's where you'll run into a stumbling block.Also if the home has been moved from its original situs and relocated to a private lot/parcel you will not be able to obtain an FHA guaranteed loan.

I am bullish on anything in FL due to beach, net population gain, corporate relocations, and a state law that does not allow municipalities to add new laws or modify grandfathered existing laws so it will protect your right to STR.Let me know if you ever consider Tampa/Clearwater/Saint Pete area :D
