According to this document (https://www.state.nj.us/dca/divisions/codes/public...), it states:---A landlord must allow the tenant to renew the lease unless the landlord has good cause for an eviction under the Anti-Eviction Act.

The lawyer he was working with was also well-established in the community (i.e. mentioned positively in local news articles) and the email addresses / phone numbers tied to public records.Nothing fancy here, but these were just some of the steps taken to vet a long-distance business partner in addition to your more typical DD and documentation on the deal and individual.

It obviously will depend on your entire application (credit score, D:I ratio, etc) but let's just say you're pretty green across the board.Also, do you recommend trying to find a local credit union (hard to find one that will do a HELOC on an investment prop based on my several attempts) or going to a public bank?

So heck it could even hurt you in the courtroom to have elaborate veils over the ownership the judge can see right through--the judge might assume you are trying to defraud the public somehow and you need to be shut down!
