I have and do attend tax sale auctions.

But instead of saddeling the banks with these there was a plan for the government to step in and "purchase" those non performing loans so that the banks would have more money available to them for future loans.Maybe that means that there will be more properties available at "governmental auctions"?

Is there any way to buy them straight from the bank without the realtor auctions?

As a general rule you need to be very careful about state laws and rekeying a home you but from the courthouse auction.

It might be a better tactic to allow the property to be sold at that auction and buy it yourself (if you dont already own it).

Go to open houses, auctions, meet with sellers, visit listed properties, follow up on properties you looked at to see what they ultimately sold for.

I buy at the monthly foreclosure auction here in my TX county each month.
