I have started my journey as well here in the Houston area and wanted to get some insight from you on where you are in the project and any feedback about the process.

Initially, I started with a project called Dealsletter, which has grown quite well and has received positive feedback from the real estate investing community.

I am also a licensed electrician and very familiar with construction and project management.    

Use Florida for example it may seem far but its easy to manage and the prices are far better.

Maybe this is a better project for the next time you have a vacancy?

The only caveat probably being you need to have multiple listings and actively manage closing one listing and opening the others at the 6 week mark?

Are you willing and experienced enough to take on a rehab project or do you want something turnkey? 

How about a management company to handle all these for liability purposes.If we decide to go with a series LLC structure for our real estate investing, where should our management company (to deal with tenants, manage rent, deals with expenses, etc) will fall into?

https://www.biggerpockets.com/blog/short-term-rental-loans-a...Also - PS on the advice regarding getting a vacation home loan - if this is referrring to the conventional 2nd Home / Vacation Home Loan (10% Down Loan) - I'd be very careful here, these are not supposed to be for STR investment properties (you are required to rent it out no more than half the year, not utilize prop management, ec.) - which doesn't sound like your plans for this investment
