Wrong choices can corrode pipes and cause more trouble down the road.My suggestion, install drain strainers on the tub and shower drains to keep snaking trips down to a minimum.Mike

@andrew bradley, I think once it starts to get colder you can probably find some good deals from HUD, other than that I had trouble buying through the MLS as far as getting snaked by a realtor on a deal.

Direct vent equipment cost a little more but will probably be best since you won't have to deal with lining the chimney and the tree huggers will love you (way the cost both ways) It will be much cheaper to separate the loops for each floor using PEX (it can be snaked up to each apt) and keep everything else inside the apartments the same.
