Personally I like investing in RE, but I decided I don't want to be a landlord, a flipper, or do anything RE-related that resembles a job.I think about switching careers sometimes, but it would probably be something unrelated to real estate, unless it let me combine RE with things I enjoy (such as writing, programming).Definitely don't want to lose that primary income stream, which enables RE investing in the first place, but if I could reach FI early and "retire" to become a full-time investor, that would be awesome.

I believe prices will soften, as most predict, but do not see any comparisons to 2008 which resembled a pyramid scheme - any equity gained was taken out and fed back into the overinflated economy.

It's hard to fathom NYC not rebounding and going back to some close resemblance of its former glory, but then again the world just got turned half-way upside down and the next year or so may sufficiently turn the world fully upside down.

I almost bought in to the guru hype of a certain unnamed company that shall remain nameless where they wanted a crap ton of money and likely would not have taught anything remotely resembling the helpful information found on this website.
